'A Tale of Two Sweeties' Story Code '68101' by Robin Jill Bernheim

25th February 1958: Sam leaps into travelling brush salesman Martin ‘Marty’ Joseph Ellroy, and is shocked to learn the man has two wives, Rachel and Ellen, and two children from each marriage. While the ethical Sam struggles to come to terms with the life of a bigamist, Al is merely jealous, wishing he had thought of such a practical approach to matrimony. Initially it seems that Sam’s mission is to keep Rachel, Josh and Jessica apart from Ellen, Mary and Marty Jr., and so he rushes from a home-cooked meal with one family to a takeout dinner with the other. However, Ziggy soon determines that Marty is only supposed to have one wife – and that Sam must decide which one to keep. As Sam runs himself into the ground juggling his two lives, things become even more complicated: Marty has run up a gambling debt of two thousand dollars from horseracing, and unless he can find a way to repay Vic the bookie within twenty-four hours, both his thumbs will be broken…
